Question: Does this work for scrubbing carrots instead of peeling them?

A: It does a good job of removing any grime, but doesn't strip any skin, so depending on the type of carrots and your eating preference for them, I think it will work well. I use mine to rub potatoes and I generally don't bother peeling them.

Q: How stiff are the white bristles? Are they so hard that they will damage the potato skins when you wash them?

A: These little things are kind of awesome. The brush has soft and firm bristles so you can easily "adjust" cleaning items. The silly looking little pieces of plastic are actually great for removing eyes from potatoes. To answer this question more concretely, a brush can remove dirt without damaging the skin. You can always adjust the pressure if needed

Is this dishwasher safe ?
Answer:I think not. In any case I have never washed mine in the dishwasher.
